Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Ruger Blackhawk is a popular single-action revolver that is manufactured by Sturm, Ruger & Co. It comes in various finishes, calibers, and barrel lengths, and has been well-liked among firearm enthusiasts and collectors worldwide for several decades. The early models of the Blackhawk were similar to the Colt in that the hammer had to be half-cocked to load and unload. However, with the introduction of the New Model Blackhawk in 1973, the firearm was made safer and more legal liability-friendly.

The New Blackhawk model did not require the hammer to be half-cocked for loading and unloading and featured a transfer bar mechanism that prevented the cartridge under the hammer from being fired without first pulling the trigger. Additionally, the cylinder of a Blackhawk can be replaced with a cylinder for a different cartridge of the same diameter. Ruger has offered "convertible" cylinder revolvers in .45 Colt/.45 ACP, .38-40/10mm Auto, and .357 Magnum/9×19mm Parabellum.
