The Colt New Frontier 22 Scout was manufactured from 1970-1977 with an old style sear style hammer safety and 2 convertible cylinders (.22 LR & .22 Magnum).

The Colt New Frontier .22 Scout was made from 1970 to 1977 and then again from 1982 to 1986. This gun has similar features to the Colt Peacemaker model. The 6-shot Single Action revolvers were fitted with either a 4.4, 4 3/4, or 6 inch barrel, adjustable rear sight, built on the flat top frame, blue and/or color case-hardened finished, came with 2 cylinders (.22 LR & .22 Magnum) on those made from 1970 to 1977, and .22 LR cylinder only on those made from 1982 to 1986. Those made from 1982 to 1986 were also fitted with a cross bolt safety, located under the loading gate.
When Colt added a spin on it's classic .22 caliber Frontier Scout with the interchangeable cylinders, it opened up a sidearm that takes charge anywhere-target shooting, hunting, or plinking. With the versatility, Colt's Frontier Scout retains the action-proved features that have made it one of America's most sought after handguns.
