The Colt Huntsman was introduced in 1955 as part of Colt’s second generation of Woodsman-pattern .22 LR pistols, designed to offer the same proven reliability and shooting qualities as the premium Woodsman line but in a more affordable, streamlined package. Produced until 1977, the Huntsman featured a fixed rear sight, an aluminum alloy frame on later examples, and simplified cosmetics, making it an accessible rimfire pistol for recreational shooters, small-game hunters, and those wanting Colt quality at a lower price point.
