Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
Introduced in 1950, the MK I Target model of the Ruger pistol represented an advanced iteration of the Standard pistol, distinguished by its longer 6.875-inch barrel, adjustable target-style trigger, and "Micro" adjustable rear sight. The front sight blade was designed with an undercut to minimize glare, enhancing accuracy for target shooting. In 1952, Ruger introduced a 5.25-inch barreled variant of the MK I Target, though it was only produced until 1957, making it a rare and collectible item today. By 1963, a 5.5-inch heavy bull barrel version was added to the lineup, ultimately becoming the preferred length for Ruger Target MK pistols due to its popularity. In 1971, like the Standard models, the MK I Target pistols underwent the A100 grip frame redesign, reflecting ongoing improvements in design and ergonomics.
