According to the included factory letter "Our records indicate the Ruger speed-six revolver with serial number 157-03317 was produced in January 1981 in our Newport, New Hampshire facility. The revolver is designated as model GS-92 and is chambered in 9mm. It was shipped to Hamilton Associations in Canton, OH in February 1981."

The Ruger Speed Six is a double action revolver that was introduced in 1972 and manufactured until 1988. It is chambered for 9mm Luger/Parabellum (with moon clips) and is a classic six round handgun used by law enforcement, military, and civilians alike. Renowned for its simple design and reliablility, the speed six offers a rock steady sidearm for self defense or target shooting. It features a full size walnut hand grip with Ruger medallions and a stainless steel frame with a 2.75" barrel. The speed six is also mounted with a square notched grooved receiver and black serrated ramp front sight.
