Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
Colt had achieved great success with the Mark III series, and in 1982, they released an upgraded version of it called the Mark V series. The new version featured several significant changes from its predecessor, including the replacement of the sintered steel hammer and trigger with cast steel, the introduction of Colt's first short action for a shorter hammer fall, and the replacement of the mainspring, mainspring guide, and location of the mainspring seat with a longer spring and guide for an improved trigger pull. Additionally, the Mark V series featured a new rounded grip frame to replace the full profile square butt frame, as well as full wrap-around grips with a covered back strap. Finally, the barrel was updated to include Python-like vents in the rib.
The Trooper Mark V was a premium version of the Trooper revolver. It had adjustable sights, a Target hammer, a Target trigger, and Target grips. The barrel length options were 4 inches, 6 inches, and 8 inches, and it had a red front sight insert. It was available in bright blue, bright nickel, and satin Electroless nickel finishes, also known as "Coltguard." The caliber of this revolver was .357 Magnum.
