Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
Benelli semi-auto 3rd generation (inertia recoil) shotguns were imported starting in the late 1960s. They were marketed as a super fast cycling shotgun. By the time the 5th shell was being ejected, the first shell had not hit the ground! The SL-80 Model 121 had a semi-gloss, black finish, the Model 123 had an ornate photo-engraved receiver, the Model Special 80 had a brushed, white nickel-plated receiver, and the Model 121 M1 had a matte finish receiver, barrel, and stock. All 12 ga. SL-80 Series shotguns will accept 2 3/4 or 3 in. shells, and all SL-80 Series 12 ga. Models have interchangeable barrels (except the 121 M1) with 4 different model receivers (121, 121 M1, 123, and Special 80). All 4 models had fixed choke barrels. In 1974 the SL80 series was born and then discontinued in 1985 and later marketed by Beretta as the Vitoria, Pintail, and then the ES-100 Pintail.
Approximately 50,000 SL-80 Series shotguns were manufactured before discontinuance.
The marketplace for older Benelli semi-auto shotguns has changed in recent years, with more interest being shown in these older models as they represent a good value compared to Benelli's new offerings. Collector interest on these older SL-80s appears to be occurring also. As a result of this additional interest and demand, values are RAPIDLY increasing! Just ask any collector and he/she will tell you that these are fantastic guns and fun to own!
Condition and Contents:
As you can see in the many high resolution photos, this Benelli is in overall great condition and will be a great addition to anyone's collection!
Return Policy:
We gladly offer a 3 day unfired inspection policy from the time that the firearm is delivered to your FFL. Refunds are available for all qualifying orders.
