Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Smith & Wesson Model 469 is a pistol that uses the 9mm cartridge and operates semi-automatically. It belongs to Smith & Wesson's 59-series of pistols, which were designed to be easily concealed yet powerful enough to serve as service weapons. The Model 469 is a traditional DA/SA pistol with a 3.5-inch barrel and a safety/decocker mounted on the slide. It can hold 12 rounds in its magazine. The Model 469 was eventually succeeded by several similar pistols in Smith & Wesson's "third-generation" series, including the Model 6904 (with an alloy frame and black finish), the Model 6906 (the same pistol with a stainless steel finish), and the Model 6946 (similar to the 6906 but only operates in double-action mode). The Model 469 was manufactured from 1983 to 1988 with a total production of 97,261.
