This Colt Python wears a SIMPLY BREATHTAKING Bright/Polished stainless finish and was manufactured in 1984. Colt produced the first runs of the Stainless Steel constructed Python in the last part of 1984 and cataloged the stainless steel constructed Python in 1985, making this example a 1st YEAR OF PRODUCTION MODEL!

The Colt Python is a .357 Magnum caliber revolver manufactured by Colt's Manufacturing Company of Hartford, Connecticut. It was first introduced in 1955, the same year as Smith & Wesson's M29 .44 Magnum. Demands were made for other finishes beside Royal Blue, so over the years Colt offered the Python in Bright Nickel, satin electroless nickel known as "Royal Coltguard", and in the early 1980's in satin stainless steel and in bright mirror polished stainless steel, variously known as Bright Polish or Ultimate Polish. The Colt Python was intended for the premium revolver market segment.
