Before the introduction of the Model 60, revolvers were made of carbon steel (with the exception of some Airweight models which were made with an aluminum alloy frame to reduce weight). In 1965, S&W began a revolution in handgun marketing with the introduction of a stainless steel Chiefs Special. The model 60 was the FIRST Stainless steel revolver EVER produced!
Condition and Contents:
As you can see in the many high resolution photos, this Smith is in Excellent condition showing no indications of regular consumer use or handling that we can see!
