Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Colt Boa revolver is an extraordinarily rare and highly sought-after collectible, originally introduced in a limited run of just 1,200 pieces. Developed as a special model to bridge the gap between Colt's high-end Python and the Mark V series, the Boa was offered exclusively through Lew Horton Distributing in Southboro, Massachusetts. The production was split between 600 four-inch and 600 six-inch models, with consecutively numbered pairs of each barrel length, making them even more unique. The Boa is often mistaken for a special edition of the Python, but in fact, it is a hybrid of the Python and the Colt Trooper Mk V, incorporating the Trooper's smoother trigger and shorter lock time, setting it apart from its famous counterpart. Chambered in .357 Magnum like the Python, the Colt Boa is a finely crafted revolver in its own right. Of the 1,200 units made, only 100 sets were produced as consecutively numbered pairs, consisting of one four-inch and one six-inch model, and each set came in a fitted case supplied by Lew Horton. This particular set, with both barrel lengths, is an incredibly rare and coveted collectible, showcasing the pinnacle of Colt's craftsmanship during this exclusive production run. With its limited availability and exceptional quality, the Colt Boa continues to be a prized possession for collectors worldwide.
