Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
Designed by John Browning, the M1911 is the best-known of his designs to use the short recoil principle in its basic design. The pistol was widely copied, and this operating system rose to become the preeminent type of the 20th century and of nearly all modern center-fire pistols. It is popular with civilian shooters in competitive events such as the International Defensive Pistol Association and the International Practical Shooting Confederation.
The Colt 380 Auto is the compact protection that will appeal to both your head and your heart, it goes everywhere you go. It tucks away as neatly as a smaller 2 or 25 caliber, and yet, it gives you significantly more stopping power, especially with modern high-speed ammunition. When size and dependability are what matters, the Colt 380 has both. This pocket pistol was similar in appearance, but not design, to the Colt M1911. The Government Model .380's obvious aesthetic difference is that it is scaled down to roughly 78 percent to that of a full-sized M1911 Government Model. Although the .380 Government Model is an ideal carry gun, it is no longer being made, and this always makes the collectors take notice.
