Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
Caliber - 9mm, introduced late 1985 as a smaller version of the Model 659, traditional double-action, 3-1/2" barrel, 12-shot finger-rest magazine or 20-round extension magazine was available, stainless steel slide and barrel with aluminum alloy frame,, .260" bobbed hammer, 365" smooth trigger, ambidextrous safety, 1/8" serrated ramp with red bar front sight with rear sight drift adjustable for windage only, serrated forestrap with stippled backstrap, S&W trademark stamped on the right of frame, "9mm Parabellum" stamped on the extractor port, black pebble grain molded DeIrin stocks with S&W monograms, TAK original serial prefix. Weight is 26 ounces. First 100 engraved for Lew Horton Dist. circa October 1985. The Model 669 was introduced in 1985 beginning with serial number TAE 0001. The gun had a stainless steel slide and barrel with aluminum alloy frame. The first 100 guns were set aside for special orders; 25 of these were class "A" engraved by an outside contractor and marked "I of 25." It took ten vears for all of these engraved guns to be sold. In 1988 the 2nd Generation Model 669 was discontinued and replaced by the 3rd Generation Model 6906. Total production of the Model 669 was 54,074 pistols. Produced circa 1985-1988.
