The Smith & Wesson Model 13, also known as the Military & Police Magnum, is a revolver designed for military and police use. It is chambered in .357 Magnum and is based on the K-frame of Smith & Wesson. Essentially, it is a .357 Magnum version of the heavy-barrel Model 10 chambered in .38 Special, originally called the Military & Police.
This double-action revolver has a capacity of six rounds and is available in two barrel lengths: 3-inch and 4-inch, both with fixed sights. It is produced in both round-butt and square-butt versions. The Model 19 is similar to the Model 13, but it has adjustable sights and a partial underlug. The Model 13 comes with a blued finish, while the Model 65 is a variant that comes with a matte finish stainless steel. The Model 13 was manufactured from 1974 to 1999.
