Markings: Type "B" scroll engraving in "Henshaw" on the bottom of the backstrap and on the trigger guard bow, "Nimschke" on the cylinder, "Helfricht" on the frame and barrel lug, and "Contemporary" on the barrel. The hammer is also engraved with Wolf's Head design. The 150th Rampant Colt logo is linecut engraved on the top of the backstrap, and "Colt Engraving Sampler" is linecut engraved down the backstrap in script style. The stocks are also scrimshawed on the left side in script with the following: R. Henshaw 1831, L. Nimschke 1850-1900, C. Helfricht 1871-1921, and Contemporary.

The Colt Army Model 1860 is a cap & ball .44-caliber single-action revolver used during the American Civil War made by Colt's Manufacturing Company. It was used as a side arm by cavalry, infantry, artillery troops, and naval forces.
This gun is one of the rarest configurations that Colt has ever produced. This is a Colt Engraving Sampler and is one of ONLY 10 PRODUCED in the nickel finish. There were also 10 made in blue and color case hardened. This example was engraved by Colt Master Engraver George Spring who has been engraving for Colt since 1975. This is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity to own one of the rarest Colts available.
Condition and Contents:
As you can see in the many high resolution photos, this colt is in PHENOMENAL condition showing virtually no indications of consumer use or handling that we can see! Not to mention it comes with the original labeled custom shop box and ALL contents pictured above!
