The Ithaca X-Caliber in .22 LR is exceptionally rare: according to gun-value sources, only about 300 units of the .22 LR version were ever made. Produced around 1988, these pistols carry a premium among collectors thanks to their limited production, break-action design, and dual firing-pin capability (rimfire and centerfire). Because so few were made, any surviving examples in good condition are quite collectible and often command strong interest on the vintage handgun market.
