Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Ruger MK II ("Mark Two"), produced from 1982 to 2005, succeeded both the original Standard model, which was Ruger's first firearm introduced in 1949, and the MK I Target, made from 1951 to 1982. The MK II series includes various models such as the Target, which features heavier barrels and adjustable sights for enhanced precision, and the 22/45 models, distinguished by their polymer frames and a grip angle that mimics the Colt 1911, diverging from the steel-frame's Luger P08-style grip. The MK II was available with three types of barrels: tapered barrels in lengths of 4¾", 5¼", 6", and 6?", with options for fixed or adjustable sights depending on length; bull barrels in 5½", 6?", and 10" lengths, all equipped with adjustable sights; and slab-sided target barrels in 5½" and 6?" lengths, also featuring adjustable sights. The pistols were offered in blued or stainless steel finishes, except for the slab-sided Target models, which were only available in stainless steel. The MK II was phased out in 2004, replaced by the MK III, and like all Ruger rimfire pistols, it was chambered exclusively in .22 Long Rifle.
