Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Smith & Wesson Model 60 is a pioneering stainless steel revolver first introduced in 1965, recognized as the first production handgun made entirely from stainless steel. Built on the compact J-frame, the Model 60 was originally chambered in .38 Special and featured a double-action/single-action mechanism with an exposed hammer, making it suitable for both deliberate and rapid response shooting. Its five-shot cylinder and compact frame made it an instant favorite among law enforcement, off-duty officers, and concealed carriers. Known for its durability, ease of maintenance, and dependable performance, the Model 60 quickly cemented its place as one of Smith & Wesson’s most popular revolvers, later being adapted to accept .357 Magnum rounds for even greater defensive capabilities.

In 1989, Smith & Wesson introduced a specialized variant known as the Model 60 "LadySmith", designed with both aesthetics and ergonomics tailored toward female shooters. This version was offered with either a 2-inch standard barrel or a 3-inch heavy barrel, both featuring a frosted stainless finish for a subtle matte appearance. The round butt frame came fitted with anatomically contoured grips, with wood combat grips featured on the 3-inch model to enhance control. It included a serrated ramp front sight, a square-notch rear sight, a .240" service hammer, and a .312" smooth trigger with beveled edges and a lighter factory trigger pull for ease of use. The frame was engraved with the "LadySmith" rollmark, giving it a distinct identity. Early models were shipped in burgundy hard plastic cases, while post-1992 production included a softside Bob Allen case. The LDY0001 serial prefix marked the beginning of this elegant and purpose-driven series, which continues to hold collector and practical appeal to this day.

This example is in very fine overall condition, showing no evidence of regular consumer use or handling that we can see! Additionally, it will ship with the burgundy “LadySmith” hard case and cleaning tools as pictured above.
