The 60 is the sister model to such classics as the 34, 38, 66, 19, and 17 models.
This exclusive Model 60 revolver, with the product code 102316, is a unique collector's item that was produced in 1989 for Mich. Police Supply. It boasts exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail, featuring a sleek 2" barrel that's perfectly complemented by a round butt frame. The unfluted cylinder adds an extra touch of sophistication, while the beautifully crafted wooden grips provide a comfortable and secure grip. The Smith & Wesson Model 60 revolver is a 5-shot revolver that comes in both .38 Special and .357 Magnum calibers. It was the first revolver ever made from stainless steel. The Model 60 is a stainless steel version of the Smith & Wesson Model 36 Chief's Special revolver, and it has a cylinder that swings out. It also has an exposed hammer. The Model 60 has been in production since 1965 and was the first all-stainless steel firearm ever made for regular production. In 1965, the Model 60 had a 1.875" barrel and was only chambered for the .38 Special. It was so popular that gunshops had a waiting list of up to six months to purchase one.
