The Model 629-3 Magna Classic was a limited edition run of only 3000 revolvers produced by Smith & Wesson in 1990. It is the only revolver from the company with a factory-original bright stainless finish. All of these models have the serial prefix "MAG".

This is an exceptional item that you wouldn't want to miss out on. The Model 629-3 Magna Classic is a true "Magna Classic" with features like a .400" serrated trigger, .500" target hammer, 7 1/2" full lug barrel, and a "1 of 3000" marked barrel. It also has a white outline micrometer click rear sight, 10 grooves serrated blackstrap, 6-shot fluted cylinder, and Goncalo Alves finger grooved combat style grips. The only difference in this example is that it has a BEPxxxx serial number, rather than a MAGxxxx. It also features a product code of 103633 and a special order number of 2947. After further investigation, it was discovered that this is one of only four "prototypes" created by S&W to showcase this model at the SHOT Show in Las Vegas in January of 1990.

This is an incredibly unique and rare example that would catch the eye of any collector. What makes it even more special is that it is part of a matching two-piece consecutive serial set. If you were to acquire both of these guns, you would be the proud owner of half of the prototypes ever made. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own a truly remarkable piece of history!

Don't forget to bid on the consecutive serial-numbered sister for this set to stay together for future generations of collectors!!! Simply type item number 1043596743 into the search bar, OR you can click "Seller's other items."

This particular example is part of a two-piece consecutive serial set! This example sports the serial number (#BEP8277), and the matching pair in the other auction bears the serial number (#BEP8278)!

YOU CAN FIND THE OTHER CONSECUTIVE SERIAL NUMBER EXAMPLE LIVE ON GUNBROKER NOW BY TYPING #1043596743 IN THE SEARCH BAR!

Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
Introduced in 1978, the Smith & Wesson Model 629 is a stainless steel version of the Model 29. At the time of its introduction, the Model 29 was the most powerful production handgun. However, it was later overtaken by handguns chambered for the larger .454 Casull and .50 Action Express cartridges. It was made famous worldwide by association with the fictional character "Dirty Harry" Callahan. The 629 model designation derives from Smith & Wesson's practice of denoting a stainless steel version of one of their already existing designs by placing a 6 in front of the model number of the original weapon.

The Model 629-3 Magna Classic features a .400" serrated trigger, a .500" target hammer, a 7 1/2" full lug barrel, and a "1 of 3000" marked barrel. It also has a white-outline micrometer click rear sight, 10 grooves serrated blackstrap, 6-shot fluted cylinder, and Goncalo Alves finger grooved combat-style grips.
