This Browning Model 42 High Grade pump action shotgun in .410 gauge was manufactured in Japan by Miroku in 1991. This Model 42 High Grade features a 26" vent rib barrel, chambered for 2 1/2" and 3" shells and has a fixed full choke. Only manufactured for three years from 1991 to 1993. The Model 42 was only available in .410 and came in two grades, a field grade and a high grade. The field grade had rather plain grained satin finished wood and the metal was non engraved and standard finish. The high grade had a much nicer grained wood, more elaborate checkering and a detailed gold engraving featuring a duck hunt scene.
