Item Description
Bryant Ridge Co. is pleased to present this unique Italian-made semi-automatic pistol for a penny-start auction; this is the Browning BDA-380!
The Browning DBA-380 is based on the proven Beretta Model 81 and/or 84 design. Beretta did not sell these pistols under its own branding. Instead, the .380 variants by Beretta were sold as Browning BDA 380 by Browning Arms Company for the North American markets. The Beretta/Browning models are distinguished by their markings, with the right side of the slide being marked "Fabrique National Herstal" with the FN logo followed by "Made in Italy", and the left side of the slide has markings “Browning Arms Co. Morgan Utah & Montreal, P.Q.”

The BDA .380 is based on the proven design of the Beretta Model 81 and 84, which were originally offered in .32 ACP and .380 ACP variants. The .32 ACP models were manufactured by FN Herstal for European markets, while Beretta produced the .380 ACP variants under contract for FN. These pistols were sold in North America under the Browning brand as the Browning BDA 380, marked with the distinctive "Fabrique National Herstal" and "Made in Italy" on the right side, and "Browning Arms Co. Morgan Utah & Montreal, P.Q." on the left. Despite their craftsmanship, the BDA .380 did not see widespread commercial success, with production ceasing around 1997 after limited adoption by some law enforcement agencies, including the Belgian Judicial Police for female officers.
