The Colt Delta Gold Cup National Match was a high-end 10mm pistol designed for competitions and target shooting. The Delta Elite Stainless version was produced for five years, from 1989 to 1993. On the other hand, the Royal Blue version was only manufactured for 1 year in 1991. However, the total production figures for each variant are not clear from the given information, but we do know they were very low.
This is a rare and highly sought-after Blue Delta Gold Cup variant, considered a gem among Colt enthusiasts. It is in pristine condition, with no signs of previous use. This collector-grade piece is a testament to Colt's exceptional craftsmanship and would be a great addition to any collection!

The Colt Delta Elite is a variant of the M1911 pistol series 80, designed to fire the 10mm Auto cartridge. Introduced in 1987 by Colt's Manufacturing Company, it is considered to be the first 10mm firearm produced by a major manufacturer.
The Delta Elite is a standard design of the 1911 pistol, with a few minor differences from the latest Series 80 model. It carries a "Commander" type hammer and the same overall features that have made the 1911 so popular. However, the Delta Elite has a stiffer double recoil spring to handle the increased recoil of the 10mm round. The 10mm can easily exceed the pressure levels of the .357 Magnum, thus stressing the original design's limitations, unless care is taken. Many gunsmiths have their own modifications to adjust the level of felt recoil of the Delta Elite. Some of the earliest Delta Elites had a tendency to suffer from stress cracks on the slide rail due to flexing, which was quickly resolved by removing the section of the rail above the slide-stop cutout.
