The Colt All American Model 2000 represents Colt’s ambitious attempt to re-enter the law enforcement and civilian handgun market during a period of transition from revolvers to high-capacity semi-automatic pistols. Designed by renowned firearms engineers C. Reed Knight and Eugene Stoner, the pistol features a polymer or aluminum-alloy frame and employs a locked-breech, rotating-barrel action. Chambered in 9mm with a 15-round magazine capacity, it was Colt’s answer to the growing demand for modern, double-action semi-automatics. Equipped with white 3-dot sights and checkered synthetic grips adorned with inlaid Colt medallions, the pistol sought to blend ergonomic design with combat-ready functionality.
