The Colt 1991A1 was introduced in 1991, at a time when the market was flooded with custom 1911 pistols. To stand out, Colt designed the Model 1991A1 to be true to its roots and faithful to the original design. This model is a combination of the M1911A1 military model and the slide of the Mk. IV Model 80, to provide a more "mil-spec" pistol that can compete with imported pistols from other manufacturers, such as Springfield Armory and Norinco. The Colt 1991A1 is a modern version of the legendary Colt 1911 and is a high-quality, economical, and utilitarian handgun that showcases its military heritage. It would make a great addition to any collection.
