This Heckler & Koch SP89 is offered in factory-new, NIB condition—complete with its original box, manuals, magazine, and factory packing—and represents one of the very few truly new-in-box SP89 pistols believed to remain in the country. The SP89 has long been discontinued and seldom appears in collector-grade, unfired condition, with full paperwork and accessories is exceptionally rare; opportunities to acquire a specimen this original and complete simply don’t come up nowadays. For serious H&K collectors or anyone seeking a museum-quality SP89, this is a once-in-a-blue-moon chance to own a pristine, factory-original example whose condition and scarcity make it far more desirable than ordinary used examples.

The Heckler & Koch SP89 is a civilian, semi-automatic pistol introduced by Heckler & Koch in 1989 as a commercial derivative of the compact MP5K. Chambered in 9x19 mm Luger and using H&K’s signature roller-delayed blowback system with a closed-bolt design, it offered better control and accuracy than simple blowback pistols of its era. The SP89 featured a 4.5-inch barrel (with some closer to 5 inches), a steel receiver with polymer furniture, and MP5-style sights and controls. Standard magazines were 15 rounds, though 30-round magazines designed for the MP5 series were also compatible. Importation into the United States lasted only a few years, ending in the early 1990s due to the result of new import restrictions and the 1994 Federal Assault Weapons Ban. As a result, surviving “pre-ban” SP89s—those imported before the restrictions took effect—are especially sought after by collectors for their rarity and provenance.
