The SPNY is a hammerless DAO variant of the SP-101 chambered in 38 Special and made exclusively for the NYPD, this particular one shipped in 1993. These models are fairly rare!
This gun features cushioned rubber grip with black synthetic insert. It has no exposed metal in the backstrap, making it extremely comfortable. The takedown of integrated subassemblies requires no special tools, allowing for easy maintenance and re-assembly. This example also features a pinned, replaceable black ramp front sight and integral rear sight.
The transfer bar mechanism provides an unparalleled measure of security against accidental discharge. The grip frame easily accommodates a variety of custom grips. The triple-locking cylinder is locked into the frame at the front, rear, and bottom for more positive alignment and dependable operation shot after shot. The spurless hammer model is double-action only and ideal for a snag free draw.
