Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Browning Hi-Power is a semi-automatic pistol available in two calibers: 9×19mm Parabellum and .40 S&W. The design was based on the works of John Browning, an American firearms inventor, and was later completed by Dieudonné Saive at FN Herstal. Unfortunately, Browning passed away in 1926 before the design could be finalized. FN Herstal named the pistol the "High Power" because of its impressive 10 or 13-round magazine capacity, which was almost twice that of other contemporaneous designs, such as the Walther P38 or Colt M1911.
The Browning Hi Power Mark III is a well-crafted and functional choice for both novice and seasoned shooters. It features a black epoxy receiver and slides with a locked breech, a crisp single-action trigger, ambidextrous thumb safety, composite panel grips, and high-profile fixed sights. The machined steel frame and slide provide a sturdy yet lightweight feel, while the natural pointability of the firearm makes handling easy. Despite the impressive 10-round double column magazine, the grip remains slim enough to comfortably fit nearly every hand size. Overall, the Browning Hi Power Mark III offers the perfect balance of size, handling, and firepower.
