It was first introduced in 1955, the same year as Smith & Wesson's M29 .44 Magnum. The Colt Python model was intended for the premium revolver market segment and has become THE PREMIER COLLECTOR firearm. The stainless model colt was first manufactured in 1983, this particular piece being manufactured in 1995.
