Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Marlin Camp Carbine was a self-loading carbine made by Marlin Firearms in North Haven, CT, which came in two variants chambered for 9mm or .45 ACP. This firearm was primarily designed for utility purposes, such as foraging or defense around hunting camps. It was manufactured to use magazines of popular handguns in these calibers, making it convenient for those who had both a carbine and a handgun using common ammunition. The carbine operates by direct blowback, and the receiver is drilled and tapped for mounting a scope. The stock of the firearm is made of Maine birch and has a walnut finish. Although it was discontinued in 1999, the Marlin Camp Carbine remains a popular choice among firearm enthusiasts due to its unique features and convenience.
The Camp Carbine comes standard from the factory with a detachable magazine that can be inserted into the magazine well, which is located in front of the trigger guard. The Camp-45 rifle magazine can be used with most Colt 1911-type magazines, while the Camp-9 rifle magazine can be replaced with magazines from 59-series S&W pistols. (Please see our listing for the S&W Model 5906 #1029464947 and the S&W Model 6906 #1029465891 which utilize the same interchangeable magazine as this model.) The Camp-9 magazine well is designed to hold 12-round magazines, and magazines with higher capacities protrude beyond the bottom of the well. A 20-round magazine was previously available but has been discontinued since 1989. Moreover, several aftermarket magazines and drums have been produced for both models.
Contents:
This example will ship with the mounted Tasco Accudot sight with the original box, papers, and accessories, one 4-round Marlin magazine, one 10-round Marlin magazine, four 15-round S&W magazines, one 30-round magazine, one 20-round magazine, and one 10-round magazine pictured above!
