Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Marlin Model 1897 Century Limited is a finely crafted, limited-edition lever-action rifle produced in 1997 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Marlin’s original Model 1897 rimfire. Chambered in .22 Long Rifle, this commemorative rifle was produced in a limited run of just 3,000 units, with production centered in 1997 and a small number remaining available through 1999. It features a distinctive 24-inch half-round, half-octagon barrel equipped with open sights, offering both historical authenticity and functional performance for small game hunting or target shooting. Built on Marlin’s proven lever-action platform, the 1897 Century Limited maintains the smooth operation and accuracy the brand is known for, while adding collectible value through its anniversary-themed design.

Visually, the Model 1897 Century Limited is a striking example of traditional American firearm styling. The blued steel receiver is richly engraved with ornate scrollwork and adorned with gold accents that highlight its commemorative nature. The rifle is fitted with a finely checkered fancy walnut stock and forearm, offering both elegance and a solid grip. A crescent steel buttplate and blued lever further enhance its period-correct appearance. While fully capable as a shooter, this rifle is most often prized as a collector’s piece, valued for its limited production, refined craftsmanship, and tribute to Marlin’s legacy in rimfire lever-action rifles.
