The Colt Gold Cup is known as the finest shooting semi-automatic in the world, and is the standard for competitive guns. The first Colt Gold Cup pistol was introduced in the late 1950's to give competitive shooters a gun to take directly from the dealer's showcase to the firing line. Colt Gold Cup pistols have been used to compete in local club matches through the National Matches at Camp Perry. The Colt Gold Cup National Match Enhanced model went above and beyond the standard Gold Cups by incorporating a host of performance-driven upgrades that set it apart from its predecessors. These enhancements included an under-cut trigger guard for improved grip and better control, a beavertail grip safety to ensure comfort and reduce the risk of hammer bite, a skeletonized hammer and trigger to allow for faster lock times and a lighter trigger pull, a beveled magazine well for quicker and more efficient reloads, and a flared ejection port to ensure reliable and consistent ejection of spent casings. These thoughtful refinements made the Enhanced model a superior tool for competitive shooting.
