The Seven Lightweight Custom KS, introduced by Remington’s Custom Shop in 1987, quickly earned a reputation as one of the finest dense-cover rifles ever conceived. Built on a short-action receiver derived from the legendary Model 700 but shortened by approximately half an inch, the Seven KS offered full-strength performance and factory-grade accuracy in a platform nearly 2 3/8 inches shorter overall. This compact configuration made it exceptionally fast-handling in the field while still delivering precision at longer distances. The rifle was outfitted with a free-floated 20-inch barrel—offered with or without factory iron sights—and featured a durable black cerakote-style finish, with the receiver drilled and tapped for scope mounting. Its distinctive gray Kevlar-reinforced fiberglass stock—lightweight, rugged, and textured for superior grip—enhances control in wet or brush-heavy conditions.
