The Model 1895GS is a lightweight gun that weighs only 7 lbs but delivers the same powerful performance as the 45-70 Gov't. Its 18.5-inch barrel and straight-grip stock allow for quick and easy aiming. To prevent corrosion, all major metal parts of this lever-action gun are made of stainless steel. The hammer block safety feature ensures safe operation. The American black walnut straight-grip stock is checkered and has ventilated recoil pads, swivel studs, and a Mar-Shield finish. The barrel has deep-cut Ballard-type rifling with six grooves and a twist rate of 1:20 r.h. The sights are adjustable semi-buckhorn folding rear and ramp front sight with brass bead. The solid top receiver is tapped for scope mounts.
