The Marlin Model 25MN (“MN” signifying “New,” as it succeeded the earlier Model 25M) was produced from approximately 1988–1989 through 2003 and served as Marlin’s flagship bolt-action rifle chambered in .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire (WMR). It preserved many of the defining characteristics of its predecessor, including a 7-round detachable box magazine, a 22-inch barrel featuring Marlin’s renowned Micro-Groove rifling, and a walnut-finished hardwood stock. The 25MN introduced several refinements, most notably pressed checkering on the stock and a redesigned, forward-push safety mechanism that offered improved ergonomics over earlier variants.
