The Remington Model 597 is a semi-automatic rifle made in the United States by Remington Arms. The rifle was produced at the company's Mayfield, Kentucky and Huntsville, Alabama factories. It comes in different versions that use different cartridges such as the 22 Long Rifle, the 22 WMR, and the 17 HMR. The 22 LR version has a detachable magazine that can hold up to 10 rounds, while the magazines for the larger cartridges can hold up to 8 rounds. The first production of the 22 LR and 22 WMR versions was started in 1997, while the 17 HMR version started in 2002. Remington stopped producing the 597 in 2019.
