Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
In 1949, Williams B. Ruger produced his very first firearm, the .22 Standard pistol. The original .22 Standard and the mark I, including the target, exceeded 1,250,000 pistols when production ended in 1981. The creation of this remarkable handgun would mark the beginning of an extraordinary part in the history of American firearms. While Mr. Ruger enjoyed tremendous achievements as an innovator and leader in the business of gunmaking, he also took an active role in efforts to ensure the continued rights of individuals to own firearms. In recognition of his contributors and support of the NRA foundation through the years, this beautiful pistol has been produced to help support the William B. Ruger Endowment of the NRA Foundation
