Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Smith & Wesson Model 610 is a large-frame revolver originally introduced in 1990, chambered for the powerful 10mm Auto cartridge. Built on the durable N-frame, the 610 was designed to offer revolver reliability with the ballistics of a semi-automatic round, making it a favorite among enthusiasts who appreciate both precision and power. The revolver uses moon clips to facilitate the use of rimless cartridges, and its versatility is enhanced by the ability to also fire .40 S&W ammunition. Though initially produced in limited numbers, the 610 quickly developed a cult following for its robust construction, smooth double-action trigger, and utility as a hunting, target, and personal defense firearm.

The Model 610-2, introduced in 2001 under Product Code 103571, was part of Smith & Wesson’s “Classic” line, offering a modern take on this fan-favorite revolver. This variant featured a 4-inch full-lug barrel commonly marked “610 Classic,” providing excellent balance and recoil management. It came equipped with an interchangeable black ramp front sight and a micrometer-click adjustable rear sight for precision shooting. The revolver also featured a .500" wide target hammer and a .400" smooth-faced target trigger, enhancing both control and comfort during double- and single-action firing. The unfluted 6-shot cylinder adds a distinctive aesthetic and slight weight forward for steadier aim. Outfitted with a Hogue rubber combat grip, the 610-2 was tailored for enhanced ergonomics and recoil absorption, making it a highly capable revolver for both 10mm Auto and .40 S&W shooters seeking a rugged yet refined wheelgun.
