Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Remington Model 1100 Classic Trap is a premium iteration of one of America’s most iconic autoloading shotguns. Chambered in 12 gauge and designed specifically for the sport of trap shooting, the Classic Trap model brings both aesthetic refinement and functional performance to the shooting line. It features a 30-inch vent ribbed barrel paired with a cylinder choke tube, designed to provide optimal patterning for clay target shooting. Its sighting system includes a white bead front and a silver mid-bead, offering precise alignment and target acquisition. The action is Remington’s time-tested gas-operated semi-automatic system, renowned for its reliability and ability to significantly reduce felt recoil—an essential attribute for long days of competitive shooting.

The craftsmanship of the Classic Trap is apparent in its elegant appearance. The receiver is scroll-engraved and adorned with a golden eagle on the left side, giving it a distinctive and regal presence. The high-gloss, checkered walnut Monte Carlo stock and forearm not only enhance the gun’s traditional appeal but also provide a comfortable and consistent cheek weld, which is crucial for trap shooting accuracy. Since its introduction in 1963, the Model 1100 has been a cornerstone of Remington’s shotgun lineup. Originally developed by Wayne Leek and Robert Kelley, it succeeded the Model 58 and 878 by refining the gas-operation system into a more reliable and user-friendly design. Over 60 years later and with more than four million units produced, the Remington 1100 remains a respected name in sporting shotguns—and the Classic Trap model stands as a tribute to that legacy, blending heritage with modern shooting demands.
