The CZ 550 American has all the features of the CZ 550 Lux but in a package that has the American shooter in mind. Intended to be used with optics, it features a classic American pattern stock in walnut or Kevlar composite. The Kevlar stock features a full-length aluminum bedding block to provide an ultra stable platform. The American is not fitted with sights and is supplied with 1" scope rings. A fixed magazine with hinged floorplate is used on rifles in .270, 6.5x55 SE, .30-06 and 9.3x62, while a detachable magazine is used on the shorter rifle cartridges -- .243, .308 and .22-250. The 550 platform embodies aesthetic elegance and ergonomic design. It features a Mauser style claw extractor for controlled feeding and extraction and a compact trigger mechanism that is fully adjustable and able to be used as a single stage or a single set trigger. The CZ 550 has a positive 2-position safety, a classic square bridge receiver with a 19mm dovetail milled into it and a cold hammer forged, factory-lapped barrel.

This example will ship with the matching factory-labeled box, scope rings, two 20-round boxes (40-rounds) of Hornady 286 Grain ammunition, Lee 9.3x62mm reloading dies, two boxes of 9.3 bullets and one 50-round box of Hornady 9.3x62mm cartridge cases! (Note the two boxes of ammunition will ship separately).
