The Commando is a versatile rifle that comes with an inert training suppressor attached to its standard x 28 TPI-threaded barrel. The suppressor can be easily removed to use the Commando in a standard rifle configuration. The barrel is also threaded to accept various flash suppressors and sound suppressor mounts available in the market.
The SIG522 Commando is available with an aluminum quad-rail and is an affordable training tool for military, law enforcement or anyone who relies on a carbine or rifle for protection. It has the same features as the original SIG522, including an anodized, alloy upper receiver and M1913 rail mounted for easy addition of optics, sights, lights, and lasers. The folding, telescopic stock provides a strong, stable platform for shooters. The Commando can accept both 10 and 25-round polymer SIG522 magazines. Weighing in at 6 lb, 2 oz, it is lighter than a standard SIG556 which allows for longer training sessions with less fatigue. However, it still retains enough weight for realistic training purposes.
