This Colt Government Model M45A1 is a Colt Custom Shop Model introduced in 2012 as the civilian version of the United States Marine Corps Close Quarters Battle Pistol (CQBP) issued to MARSOC, MEUSOC and Force Recon units.
According to our research, ONLY APPROXIMATELY THOUSAND of this particular configuration were made when the the Marine Corps asked them to stop using the "USMC" rollmark. These pistols can be denoted by the EGA serial number suffix. Our particular example holds serial number 05477EGA!

As you can see in the many high resolution photos, this Colt is what we believe to be New Old Stock showing no evidence of previous consumer use or handling that we can see! The Consignor states that this gun is "NEW IN BOX" and comes with all factory original contents and we see no evidence to indicate otherwise. Additionally, it will ship with the factory labeled shipping box, original foam fitted Pelican case, factory test fire target, and all contents pictured above.

This marks the first time since the end of World War II that a Colt 1911 is being shipped to the United States Government.
To honor the brave men and women of this important staple of America’s military might, the Colt Marine Pistol has been made available in limited quantities through the Colt Custom Shop. What makes the Marine Colt stand out is its Desert Tan Cerakoted Stainless Steel Receiver and Slide, Novak® 3 Dot Night Sights and Flat, Serrated Mainspring Housing with Lanyard Loop. The pistol also features an Enhanced Hammer, Colt Tactical Ambidextrous Safety Lock, and a 5” National Match® Barrel.
The Colt Custom Shop performs hand fitting of critical mating parts and each firearm is test fired by the Custom Shop and supplied with the actual test target.
