The FN FNS-9 is a modern day handgun, intended primarily for law enforcement use and civil customers. It is a successor to the FN model Forty-Nine pistol. The FN FNS-9 was introduced in 2011 and is manufactured in the United States, by a division of the Fabrique Nationale. It is used by Police in some states of the USA. The FN FNS-9 is a striker-fired pistol. It is short recoil operated weapon, that fired with a locked breech. It uses an improved Browning-type linkless locking principle. This FN has a polymer frame and a stainless steel slide. The previous FN Forty-Nine model was also a striker-fired weapon with a polymer frame and had very similar features.
