This Lipsey's First Run Special Edition Gen 3 RTF2 Frame comes with Vickers Tactical sights, mag release, slide catch, and magazine base plates. In addition, straight slide grasping grooves, a black slide with no Vickers markings, and an accessory pack with Vickers Tangodown parts are included (not installed). These GLOCK models will also have unique serial numbers (0000LAV- 4999LAV) for collectability and authenticity.

The GLOCK G17 Semi-Auto Pistol is a popular sidearm used by law enforcement worldwide, thanks to its reliability and simplicity. It is a full-size service pistol that shoots the 9x19mm pistol cartridge (9mm Parabellum), an easy-to-find military round. The GLOCK 17 is a striker-fired pistol that operates on a short-recoil system. Its Safe-Action trigger system ensures infallible shooting in stressful situations. The main frame of the GLOCK semi-automatic pistol is made of high-strength polymer resistant to shock, caustic liquids, and temperature extremes. The slide and barrel are treated with a matte black Tenifer finish, providing extreme wear and corrosion resistance. This treatment makes the pistol impervious to corrosion caused by sweat and humidity when carried close to the body or kept in a holster for extended periods. The slide cycles on four hardened steel guide rails within the frame, and an integral accessory rail in front of the trigger guard allows for the attachment of aftermarket tactical flashlights or laser sights. GLOCK pistols are easy to fieldstrip without the use of tools. The GLOCK G17 Semi-Auto Pistol is an ultra-reliable handgun that is easy to learn and maintain, making it an ideal choice for self-defense, whether in the field, at home, or on duty.
Larry Vickers of Vickers Tactical is a retired US Army 1st SFOD- Delta combat veteran with years of experience in the firearms industry as a combat marksmanship instructor and industry consultant. He has been directly or indirectly involved in some of the most significant special operations missions of the last quarter century.
LAV has several GLOCK parts produced by Tango Down and Wilson Combat. At that time (there are additional parts now), Tango Down made the Vickers Tactical Slide Release, Magazine Catch, and Magazine Base Plates. Wilson Combat produces the Vickers Tactical Battle Sights, including a plain rear U-notch and tritium front sight. His perfect GLOCK would have these parts on them as they improve the use of the pistol. Lipsey thought running these with an LAV serial number would be cool to make them that much more special.

With this info in hand, Lipsey approached GLOCK to see if they would be interested in doing this project. After some negotiating, they came to terms and the project was given the green light. 2500 G17s and 2500 G19s were agreed upon, and the only caveat was that GLOCK would not install the Tango Down parts at the factory but would install the Vickers Sights. Tango Down made up special parts kits that could be put in the box for installation by the dealer or the end user.
