This particular Model 1895SBL was manufactured in 2014 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of The Rocky Mountain Elf Foundation. As a special edition, only 400 of these rifles were produced, with the one you possess numbered 378 out of 400. This rifle's unique RMEF design sets it apart from the standard Model 1895SBL, making it a valuable addition to any Marlin or RMEF enthusiest collection.

The Model 1895 Big Bore is a lever action centerfire rifle. All variants feature a solid top receiver hammer block safety and side ejection. The base model features an American black walnut pistol grip stock with cut checkering and Mar-Shield finish blued finish, a 22″ barrel with deep cut Ballard-type rifling, adjustable semi-buckhorn folding rear and ramp front sights, and a tubular magazine. Other variants may sport a 16.5″ or 18.5″ barrel, stainless steel metal parts, large loop lever, straight grip stock, Skinner peep sight, or Picatinny rail. (The Model 1895SBL is jokingly specified as appropriate for hunting T. Rex on the manufacturer's website as it was used against one by the protagonist in Jurassic World.)
