The Ruger LC380 Semi-Auto Pistol is slightly larger than Ruger's LCP® model, though fires the same .380 ACP cartridge, making it easier to control while firing. The LC380 utilizes a double-action only, hammer-fired mechanism, with the hammer recessed into the rear of the slide to prevent snagging. The pistol operates with a locked-breech action that facilitates racking the slide. A manual thumb safety blocks the trigger. The trigger has an integrated safety, and the pull is short, light, and crisp. A magazine disconnect prevents the gun from firing without a magazine fully inserted in the frame.
