Remarks:
The pistols in this special offering were created to commemorate the 200th birthday of the famous American inventor and industrialist Samuel Colt. Born July 19, 1814, he is best known for his design and production of the first successful repeating firearm using a revolving cylinder to fire multiple shots without reloading. He is also famous for introducing the use of interchangeable parts and assembly line manufacturing to produce his firearms, making him one of the most influential industrialists of his time.
As a tribute to his significant accomplishments, this 200th Anniversary pistol features the following gold embellishments: The right side of the slide is decorated with a banner inscribed "Samuel Colt Bicentennial" accented with machine scroll engraving. The top of the slide features a depiction of the famous Colt Dome that still stands proudly at the site of the Colt Armory located along the Connecticut River in Hartford, Connecticut. The left side of the slide is enhanced with Sam Colt's portrait and two banners inscribed with his name and the commemorative dates "1814 - 2014" accented by machine scroll engraving. The Rampant Colt logo is on both sides at the rear of the slide. Completing this unique piece, all gold embellishments and scrollwork are highlighted with silver line borders.
As noted, the records indicate this pistol was sold to Colt employee Tim Looney. Mr. Looney was Director of Law Enforcement and Commercial Sales for Colt Company at the time of purchase.
It is with pride that we at Colt add this one-of-a-kind commemorative firearm to our long lineage of finely crafted collectible firearms.
The owner states that this example remains New Old Stock and we see no evidence to indicate otherwise.

Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Colt Model 1991 is a modern iteration of the legendary Colt 1911, introduced in the early 1990s as a more affordable yet reliable option for those seeking a semi-automatic pistol with the classic 1911 design. While it retains much of the iconic look and feel of its predecessor, including the single-stack magazine, grip safety, and full-size frame, the Model 1991 was engineered to be a simpler, no-frills version without some of the higher-end features found on the Colt Gold Cup or other premium 1911 models. The pistol is chambered in .45 ACP, delivering the potent stopping power the 1911 is known for, and features a robust steel frame with a blued or stainless steel finish, depending on the model. With a 5" barrel and standard sights, the Colt 1991 is favored for its smooth action, reliability, and precision. While it lacks some of the custom enhancements of more expensive variants, its durability and classic design have made it a popular choice among law enforcement, military enthusiasts, and civilian shooters alike.
