The New Ruger 22 Charger model with enhanced features was reintroduced in 2015, with the brown laminated wood stock offered briefly before being discontinued in 2016. This particular example was manufactured in that first year of production, making it a desirable First Year Production Model—and it proudly features the now-discontinued brown laminated wood stock.

The Ruger 22 Charger is a semi-automatic pistol chambered in the ever-popular .22 Long Rifle, making a strong return with enhanced ergonomics, modernized features, and the addition of a versatile Takedown model. First introduced in 2007, the 22 Charger quickly earned a reputation among .22 LR enthusiasts and plinkers for its reliability and performance. The updated version, introduced in 2015, builds on that legacy with thoughtful improvements, including the new BX-15 detachable magazine, replacing the original flush-mounted 10-round BX-10 rotary magazine (discontinued in 2016). Built from durable alloy steel with a black finish, the 22 Charger was initially available with a brown laminate stock (discontinued in 2016) or a black polymer stock paired with an A2-style grip for improved control. Newer models also feature a Picatinny rail, improved ergonomics, and—starting in late 2019—an integrated QD (Quick Detach) sling swivel cup and optional rail brace mount. Each pistol comes equipped with an adjustable bipod and a soft case, offering shooters a complete, portable precision package weighing between 3.13 and 3.25 pounds.
