The Ruger LCP II is a carefully refined evolution of Ruger’s original pocket pistol, preserving a truly pocketable footprint while adding meaningful gains in accuracy, handling, and everyday carry. Chambered in .380 ACP with a 6+1 capacity, a 2.75" barrel, and an overall length of about 5.17", it weighs roughly 10.6 ounces unloaded—small, light, and easy to conceal. Ruger reworked the fire-control system and ergonomics to produce a crisper, single-action–style trigger with a short, positive reset and an internal hammer that won’t snag on the draw; independent testing places the trigger pull around 5–5.5 lb, a clear improvement over the original LCP’s long double-action pull. The slide and barrel employ a locked-breech, short-recoil design rather than simple blowback, allowing for a lighter slide mass and springs while taming felt recoil and making the slide easier to operate for loading and clearing.
