Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Beretta 950 is a semi-automatic pistol designed and manufactured by Beretta since 1952. It belongs to a series of small and compact pocket pistols produced by Beretta for self-defense purposes. The gun was designed to be easy to use and dependable. The Beretta 950 is a straightforward blowback pistol that employs a single-action trigger mechanism and a tip-up barrel. The frame is made of an aluminum alloy, while the slide and barrel are manufactured using carbon steel. The early models, namely 950 and 950B manufactured before 1968, do not have a safety lever. These models utilize an inertial firing pin for safe hammer-down carry, and the half-cock notch is not suitable for carry, as it might cause the gun to fire if dropped on the hammer. The later models, 950BS manufactured after 1968, come with an external safety lever. The Beretta 950 Jetfire, which is chambered in .25 ACP, is an ideal backup or self-defense pistol suitable for undercover agents, police officers, or people who have a license to carry a concealed firearm for self-defense. However, the Minx version of the pistol chambered in .22 Short is not suitable for such a role due to its caliber.
